Patrick Lynch of Caritas invited Jersey Homelessness Strategic Board’s Independent Chair to a meeting with the new Minister for Housing and Communities, David Warr to discuss how the current cost of living crisis in Jersey is impacting the most vulnerable. The rising numbers of homeless were discussed as was the increasing use of food banks. The need for a definition of homelessness was stressed so the Island is properly able to monitor the scale of homelessness in jersey and be ready to respond to the complex needs to tackle the problems at source.
