Jersey Homelessness Strategic Board Formed

The formation of a strategic board made up of state sector, private sector and third sector is a first for Jersey.  The Jersey Homelessness Strategic Board was formed on 5 June 2019 by representative organisations who help people who find themselves homeless in Jersey.  The formation of the Board was an agreed output from the first Homelessness Cluster meeting that took place in December 2018.  More than 30 organisations now make up the Homeless Cluster.

The Strategic Board is an unincorporated affiliation of third sector and private sector groups, agencies and representatives of the Government of Jersey.  It is supported by the kind generosity of Ocorian Trustees with secretarial and administration support by Ocorian.

The members of the Board consist of Guy Le Maistre (The Shelter Trust), Patrick Farrell (Caritas), Dominique Caunce (Andium Homes), Alison Fossey (States of Jersey Police), and Government of Jersey representatives: Jack Norris, Paul McGinnety and Sean McGonigle. Simon Burgess (Chartered Surveyor) has been appointed as the Independent Chair and Simon Buckley (Chartered Surveyor and Managing Director of Maillard & CO) has been appointed as Vice-Chair.
