BBC Children in Need in Jersey

BBC Children in Need were in the Island on Wednesday 7th December to visit / meet members of two charities that they are currently supporting in the Island, namely Jersey Childcare Trust and Brighter Futures, and to then host an evening event.

Jersey has a good record of giving generously, and BBC Children in Need benefit each year on the back of events in schools as well as direct donations on their main fundraising day.

In return, Children in Need has donated over £600,000 back to charities in the Island.

Whilst not specifically a charity working in the Homelessness sector, BBC Children in Need help fund charities that work with vulnerable children and others in need, and it is widely recognised that to help young people in their formative years can also help them break a cycle and to be better prepared for the life ahead of them.

Homelessness Jersey were delighted to be represented at the evening event by Director of Local Services for the Government of Jersey Paul McGinnety and William Church.
