The Shelter Trust Jersey winter fundraiser returned to the Royal Square today with the annual soup kitchen.
35 different establishments offered up 35 different soups to whet the appetite of locals. Contributors ranged from Government House to popular restaurants such as El Tico, La Capanina and Sumas, hotels including Longueville Manor and The Merton to name two, Jersey Hospice and Shelter Trust, a few companies and the The Ukrainian Community.
The first three soups to sell out all within the first hour included the Crab Mulligatawny from Samphire, Beef and Onion from Cheffins and Parsnip, Honey and Black Truffle supplied by Bohemia.
Contributions were voluntary with a suggested minimum of £3, but with cash and SumUp options both available the tills were ringing!
Entertainment was on offer throughout the lunchtime session, including the Jersey College Prep senior choir.
The soup kitchen is a definite fixture in the Jersey calendar and the support is tremendous. Thank you.
