The Board and the five homelessness accommodation providers have collated their first quarterly flash report.
- Of the 228 available beds, 160 were occupied as at 31 December 2022 and a further 45 people were accommodated.
- 205 people, falling within the GOJ homeless definition were accommodated and 8 people were not accommodated by their chosen hostel.
- 71% were male and 28% were female.
- 24% were under the age of 25 and 6 people (3%) were children.
- The vast majority (91%) were of working age (18 to 64) and 14 people (7%) were 65 and older.
- Over half (51%) sought accommodation due to domestic abuse, living in unsafe or insecure housing, eviction or relationship breakdown.
- 83% hold “Entitled” housing status and 66% are from Jersey or the UK.
- 18.5% are in employment, the majority of whom are in fulltime work.
